According to Barbara Schwartz, Creator of the ASP designation, “Your Investment in Home Staging will always be less than your first Price Reduction.” This is probably the case. In the Southeast we have been slow to develop into Staging as part of our business model in the home selling process.
According to Ms. Schwartz, homes Staged have a sales success rate of 94.6% being on the market for 35 Days or less as compared to non-Staged homes with an average Days on Market of 175 days!
What I find interesting is that according to statistics from HomeGain’s 2007 national survey, based on 10 areas of home improvement identified by real estate agents in HomeGain’s original survey in 2003, areas of Home Staging such as Lightening and Brighting the home, Cleaning and de-cluttering an occupied home, Landscaping front and back yards, and staging a home for sale that these areas brought back more than 319% return on investment!
