According to organizer Deanna Jue, with Launch Atlanta, “A Taste of Athens provides an opportunity to sample more than 50 local restaurants in one evening along with wine and beer tasting and an elaborate silent auction. In celebration of host Community Connection’s Twenty-Fifth birthday, A Taste of Athens 2009 will also include a Birthday Cake Competition.
Proceeds from A Taste of Athens benefit Community Connection. Each year, A Taste of Athens welcomes about 2,000 guests who are delighted by the local fare. The event will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at The Classic Center. General admission tickets are $45, and VIP tickets ((includes access to VIP Taste Garden, Early Entrance, Additional Wine Tasting, Commemorative Plate and Glass, Seating Area and more!) are $75. To purchase tickets or for a complete listing of participating restaurants, visit www.tasteofathens.com.”

Don’t forget to come by The Book Of Athens and tell us your favorite stories about Athens. It’s just getting started but should be fun to follow!
