Real Estate powerhouse Zillow.com released the results of its weekly average rates borrowers were quoted on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace today. The 30-year mortgage escalated last week to 5.25 percent, almost a quarter of a percentage point higher than the prior week, according to the Zillow Mortgage Rate Monitor, compiled by leading real estate Web site Zillow.com®.

The Zillow Mortgage Rate Monitor also reported that, “Thirty-year fixed mortgage rates varied by state. Maryland mortgage rates and Massachusetts mortgage rates were the highest, at 5.35 percent and 5.30 percent, respectively. Georgia mortgage rates were the lowest, at 5.15 percent. California mortgage rates were the most requested among all states.”
