Trulia, “the best place to start a real estate search,” released results from a recent survey in which home buyers said they were two times as likely to use the Web rather than print media to find open houses. 62 percent of home buyers stated their preference in using the Web to find open houses as compared to 53 percent who preferred their Realtor, and 31 percent who use newspapers (print media) to find open houses.
“The real estate section of the weekend newspaper is no longer the go-to resource for open houses,” said Sami Inkinen, co-founder and COO of Trulia. “Home buyers are increasingly going online to not only search for the most up to date listings but also to obtain rich information about the neighborhood, schools, and local shops. The print newspaper can’t offer that type of experience.”
Just one more reason why if you are not online and getting the right amount of Web exposure on your home for sale, you may be SOL come the time school starts back and the selling season has passed!
